Cotton Producers Meeting, Madhya Pradesh, India
The first Cotton Producers Meeting of year 2018 was held on 9th May at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India with the theme “Fairtrade Cotton producers – Premium Usage, Issues and Challenges and Way Forward”. The meeting was organized in the framework of Fairtrade NAPP in association with FI and NFO representation by Fairtrade Foundation, UK and was attended by many of the Fairtrade cotton producers from India region. Representatives from eight producer organizations participated in the meeting.

All the producers attending the meeting presented the activities on Fairtrade Premium usage.
Fairtrade School Karahi, Pratibha Syntax, Indore – Better Schooling for Fairtrade cotton farmer’s children with added amenities like computers, co-curricular activities and other facilities
Drinking water project, Pratima Agro, Odisha – A community clean drinking water facilities for the Fairtrade cotton farmers, supporting them to reduce water-borne diseases
Farmers input kit and storage tank; Rapar & Dhrangadhra, Gujarat – A package of seeds, herbicides and other medicines for the crop yield and storage facilities to reduce pilferages
Education – Scholarship; Suminter, Gujarat – Scholarship facilities to girl child (based on merit) of Fairtrade cotton farmer family to assist them to take up higher studies and achieve their dreams
